Honours Bachelor of Integrated Food Sciences

Everything you want to know about food, nutrition and culinary arts

A collaborative program presented by University of Ottawa – Le Cordon Bleu
In today’s environment of increasing rates of obesity, rising concerns about diet-related diseases, a fast aging population and increasing numbers of individuals coping with chronic health conditions, there is a growing demand for skilled leaders who not only understand these issues but can also deliver on special nutritional needs, be it in the individual or collective setting, in public or private sectors. In addition to the undisputed links between good nutrition and health status, the last two decades have seen an exploding interest for experiencing food in diverse ways, creating a fast-growing food culture that encompasses aspects of sensory discovery, social practices, media outcome, creative preparation as well as entrepreneurship and environmental consciousness. The Honours Bachelor of Integrated Food Sciences is a multidisciplinary program that will prepare professionals to take on these challenges by providing them with an education in basic sciences, nutrition, food sciences, culinary techniques, food business management and client service.
