Students in the dining hall

The Faculty of Health Sciences is pleased to share that the Hawkesbury and District General Hospital (“HGH”), the Hawkesbury and District General Hospital Foundation (“HGH Foundation”) and the Fondation franco-ontarienne, are increasing their support of hardworking students in their mission to promote careers in health sciences in the United Counties of Prescott and Russels community. As committed donors to the University of Ottawa, they have supported 13 students pursuing studies in Health Sciences since 2013.

In an aim to increase bilingual health care providers in the region, the Jeannine Lefebvre-HGH Bilingual Health Sciences Scholarship Fund recognizes students admitted to the Faculty of Health Sciences who attended high school in the United Counties of Prescott-Russell. It is named in memory of Jeannine Lefebvre, a devoted board member who passed away in 2020.

Over the next five years, this generous donation of $100,000 will provide 20 deserving students with a scholarship of $5,000 in their first year of studies in the Faculty of Health Sciences.

The deadline for applications to the Jeannine Lefebvre-HGH Bilingual Health Sciences Scholarship Fund has been extended to June 11, 2021. The Faculty of Health Sciences looks forward to welcoming the next cohort of recipients of the Jeannine Lefebvre-HGH Bilingual Health Sciences Scholarship Fund in Fall 2021. Thank you to the Hawkesbury and District General Hospital (“HGH”), the Hawkesbury and District General Hospital Foundation (“HGH Foundation”), and the Fondation franco-ontarienne, for their commitment to support students in the Faculty of Health Sciences.
