For all Faculty of Health Sciences’ students

Here are the general scholarships and bursaries available to Faculty of Health Sciences students. When scholarships and bursaries are referred to as “automatic”, you don’t have to apply for them.  However, in other cases, you may have to fill out an online application and sometimes, submit supporting documents.

The Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP)

Interested in doing research in a field related to your studies?

The Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program provides you with a unique opportunity to explore leading-edge research at the University of Ottawa, while you define your career goals. The program involves participating in a research project of at least 50 hours over one session conducted by the faculty sponsor you choose. As a participant, you automatically receive a $1,000 scholarship.

French Immersion Studies’ scholarships and bursaries

If you take part in the French Immersion Studies program at the University of Ottawa, you are eligible for certain scholarships and bursaries.

Other scholarships and bursaries (Financial Aid)

There are many other scholarships and bursaries available to students at the University of Ottawa.  Some are for specific student groups such as:

  • Single-parents
  • Students of Haitian background 
  • Aboriginals or Métis
  • Students with a disability

  • You can also access to this search engine through uoZone under the Finances and jobs tab.
  • Select Modify Your Academic Profile.
  • Enter your information and refine your search if necessary. Then click Search.
  • You will then see a full list of scholarships and bursaries you may be eligible for.
  • Click on More details… for a scholarship or bursary, and you will see details about it, along with an online application form (if applicable).

Student-athlete scholarships and bursaries

Students at the University of Ottawa who are on a Gee-Gee’s sports team are eligible for specific scholarships and bursaries.

Community work, volunteering and leadership

The University offers scholarships related to community engagement, volunteering and leadership. To apply for them, use the Online Scholarships and Bursaries’ search engine, accessible through uoZone. Refine your search according to your interests. A list of scholarships will appear with links to more information and application forms.

Work-Study Program

Looking for a part-time job during the academic year?

The Work-Study Program (WSP) gives you the opportunity to work on campus, either part-time during the academic year or full-time during the summer.  With the WSP, you can earn extra money and get valuable experience at the same time. As well, with the wide variety of job opportunities, you can find a job related to your field of studies.

To apply to the Work-Study Program, you must use the Work-Study Navigator accessible through uoZone (under Finances and jobs). After you register, go back on the Work-Study Navigator to view and apply for the jobs.
