• The workshops are essentially seminars, or more precisely group discussion around a manuscript in its final stages of preparation (paper, book section). The manuscript can be from a member, a graduate student, or a guest speaker.
  • The paper is available at least 10 days before the workshop. Interested persons only need to contact the research coordinator of the RCSCS in ordrer to obtain the paper.
  • At the beginning of the workshop, the author briefly presents the objectives and the context of the paper (5 minutes).
  • A designated discussant presents a brief comment of the manuscript. The comment is formatted to generate a debate.
  • The author provides a first answer to the comments of the discussant.
  • The group discussion then follows.
  • Only those who have read the manuscript are invited to enter the discussion.
  • The seminar lasts approximately 90 minutes.
  • There is roughly one seminar per month (between September and May).

  • Foster the intellectual life of the Centre.
  • Provide researchers with support in the final preparation of
    manuscripts for publication.
  • Provide an additional opportunity of education for graduate students.
  • Incite the development of collaborative projects.
